BetMGM's current account FAQ says participating U.S. states share one consolidated login, settings area, and cash balance. Nevada is excluded from that consolidation. Service Closure, timeout, BetMGM self-exclusion, and state-run voluntary exclusion are separate controls.

Close your BetMGM account

Close the Intended BetMGM Product

  1. Do not place another wager or delay a protective action. Save open-bet IDs, withdrawal records, and the current balance.
  2. Open My Account > Settings and look for Service Closure. Some state-specific help pages label the route Account > Account Settings > Service Closure.
  3. BetMGM documents Service Closure separately for Sports, Casino, and Poker. Confirm every product you intend to close rather than assuming one product selection closes the others.
  4. Follow the confirmation shown for the account and save it. Ask state-specific support how unsettled wagers and remaining funds will be handled.

BetMGM's Michigan closure article documents a 24-hour reversal period and says a fully closed Michigan user can still log in and request a withdrawal. The reviewed sources do not establish those rules for every state, so this guide does not present them as universal.

Service Closure does not establish deletion of gaming-account data. Use the privacy policy or privacy contact shown in the logged-in, state-specific BetMGM service if you also want to make a data-rights request.

Self-exclude from BetMGM

Choose the Intended Protection

Open My Account > Settings > Responsible Gaming. A state-specific interface may shorten that path to Account > Responsible Gaming. Read the term, scope, and funds instructions before confirming.

BetMGM's account FAQ says a BetMGM self-exclusion started in one consolidated state blocks BetMGM services in the other consolidated states. It does not establish the same cross-state rule for Nevada.

A state-run voluntary-exclusion program is separate. For example, the Michigan Gaming Control Board offers a regulator-run program for covered Michigan online gaming and sports betting. Scope, duration, activation, and removal rules vary by regulator; one operator control should not be described as automatically covering every licensed operator.

A timeout is also separate from self-exclusion and Service Closure. BetMGM says timeouts propagate across consolidated states, but state-specific duration and funds rules still require confirmation.

If access is already blocked and money remains, ask state-specific support how to request it. A universal withdrawal or unsettled-bet rule was not confirmed.

What self-exclusion actually does (and doesn't)

It is designed to block play for the period you choose. Whether it covers new sign-ups or can be changed early depends on the operator and jurisdiction; follow the platform-specific details above.

Do not assume self-exclusion deletes account data, stops every message, or covers other sites; exact scope varies. Consider account closure, mailbox controls, and a blocking tool as additional layers.

BetMGM's account FAQ documents My Account > Settings > Communication Preferences and says the preferences apply across consolidated states. Save the change and use an unsubscribe instruction in a marketing message when one is provided. Necessary security, legal, or account-service notices may continue.

You can also use your mailbox's search, filter, and bulk-delete controls. Review the privacy terms and current price before granting any third-party cleanup tool access to your inbox.
