Close your Sports Interaction Ontario account

Give seven days' written notice

Section 18.1 of the current Ontario terms allows closure at any time after the customer withdraws the entire balance and gives seven days' written notice.

Record funds and valid outstanding bets

If safe, note the available balance, pending withdrawal, each valid outstanding bet, and a non-sensitive account reference. Do not place a new wager or deposit to prepare for closure.

Withdraw the available balance

Use the official cashier and complete any identity check only in the secure signed-in flow. The terms require the entire balance to be withdrawn before the closure notice.

Use the Ontario Contact Us route

Open Contact Us from the Ontario site or its current terms and give written notice that you want the Ontario account closed. The direct contact URL redirected to a rest-of-Canada shell during review, so this guide does not publish a universal email address.

Keep the effective date

Ask for the seven-day effective date and written handling of each outstanding bet. The terms say the customer remains responsible for account activity during the notice period.

Temporary Facility Closure is a separate account status and does not stop the inactive-account fee described in the terms. Do not treat it as the same action as contractual closure.

Self-exclude from Sports Interaction Ontario

Choose the signed-in protection or Ontario BetGuard

Open Account → My Details → Responsible Gaming. The current terms list choices of one day, one week, one, two, or three months, and indefinite, while another clause says self-exclusion may be up to five years. Because the first-party wording is not identical, use the exact option displayed in the signed-in control, save the confirmation, and do not rely on a flattened list.

During self-exclusion, login and betting are blocked and unsettled bets are voided. The terms direct the customer to request withdrawal of a positive balance and say an indefinite exclusion pays the balance less bonuses. After a fixed term, Customer Service reviews a return request and may reopen, extend, or make the restriction indefinite.

Ontario BetGuard is a separate province-wide program across regulated online gambling sites. One program does not replace the other.

What self-exclusion actually does (and doesn't)

It is designed to block play for the period you choose. Whether it covers new sign-ups or can be changed early depends on the operator and jurisdiction; follow the platform-specific details above.

Do not assume self-exclusion deletes account data, stops every message, or covers other sites; exact scope varies. Consider account closure, mailbox controls, and a blocking tool as additional layers.

The reviewed Ontario privacy policy does not give this guide one verified account-wide preference path. Use a current message's unsubscribe instruction or the Ontario Contact Us route and ask that the marketing choice be recorded separately from closure.

You can also use your mailbox's search, filter, and bulk-delete controls. Review the privacy terms and current price before granting any third-party cleanup tool access to your inbox.

Frequently asked questions

Do open bets survive closure?

The current terms say valid outstanding bets remain unaffected by ordinary closure. That is different from self-exclusion, which voids unsettled bets.

Is this the procedure for every Canadian account?

No. This guide is Ontario-only. The rest-of-Canada service has a separate legal and account contract.
