Closure, erasure, and gambling protection are different
Paddy Power's current Close My Account action closes the account and can later be reviewed for reopening. A privacy-erasure request is qualified by legal retention duties. Take a Break and self-exclusion are separate controls for stopping access.
Use protection first when access needs to stop
Do not place another bet or delay a needed break or exclusion solely to change a balance, promotion, or open bet. Paddy Power does not publish one ordinary- closure outcome for those items. Record what is already shown and ask through the current signed-in Message Us route when doing so will not undermine the protection you need.
Close your Paddy Power account
Close the Paddy Power account in account settings
Paddy Power's current closing-your-account article directs customers to its signed-in Close My Account control. It describes closure, not guaranteed permanent deletion, and says a closed account can later be considered for reopening through Customer Service.
Record unresolved items without gambling
Note any visible balance, open bet, promotion, withdrawal, or unresolved support case. Do not place a bet or start a transaction solely to prepare for closure.
Ask about open items if safety permits
Use Paddy Power's current signed-in Message Us route to ask what will happen to each item. The public ordinary-closure article does not publish one outcome or completion time.
Use Close My Account
Open the signed-in account controls and choose Close My Account. If the immediate goal is to block gambling access, use Take a Break or self- exclusion instead of waiting for an account question.
Keep the result
Save the effective date, a non-sensitive case reference, and the written outcome for each open item. Do not send a password, one-time code, full payment details, or an unrequested identity document in chat.
Account Closure Request
Adapt this request to the options the platform currently offers
This template is not pre-addressed. Use the platform’s current official contact route and confirm where this request should be sent.
- Paste this into Paddy Power's current signed-in Message Us route and include only one non-sensitive account identifier
- Keep a copy of the request and response for your records
Closure does not guarantee erasure of every record
Paddy Power's current Privacy Statement publishes SubjectRights@paddypower.com for qualified privacy-rights requests. It may verify identity and retain records where law or another permitted purpose requires it. The statement generally describes a seven-year retention period and says rights requests are normally handled within one month, but neither statement is an ordinary account-closure deadline.

Self-exclude from Paddy Power
Choose Take a Break or direct self-exclusion
Paddy Power's current Take a Break article offers 1 through 30 days. Access returns automatically at the end; the article says the account balance and open bets remain during the break.
The current closure and self-exclusion article offers fixed exclusions of 6 months, 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 years, plus permanent exclusion. Use the signed-in responsible-gambling control for a fixed period. The current Take a Break article directs a permanent exclusion request to Customer Support; use the signed-in Message Us route. A selected fixed period cannot be removed early. Paddy Power's permanent-exclusion article says permanent exclusion cannot be reversed.
Paddy Power says a permanent exclusion returns remaining funds to an active card where possible within 10 working days and handles winning open bets after settlement or the event ends. That is a permanent-exclusion rule, not a promise for ordinary closure or every payment situation. Contact support if it cannot be completed automatically.
Cover every account and retail route separately
Paddy Power's current documents do not state one consistent cross-brand rule: the closure article and the current terms differ on whether Tombola is included with other Flutter UK online brands. The safest approach is to self-exclude separately from every Paddy Power, Betfair, Tombola, or other Flutter-brand account you use. Paddy Power also says online exclusion does not cover its retail shops.
For Great Britain licensed online gambling, the maintained GAMSTOP registration guide offers 6-month, 1-year, or 5-year multi-operator exclusions for UK residents and says activation can take up to 24 hours. It does not manage operator balances. For Great Britain retail schemes, use the Gambling Commission's current national and multi-operator scheme directory. For Ireland, use the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland's current help page. Online Paddy Power exclusion does not cover retail, so use the applicable retail scheme or ask the venue for its current exclusion route separately.
What self-exclusion actually does (and doesn't)
It is designed to block play for the period you choose. Whether it covers new sign-ups or can be changed early depends on the operator and jurisdiction; follow the platform-specific details above.
Do not assume self-exclusion deletes account data, stops every message, or covers other sites; exact scope varies. Consider account closure, mailbox controls, and a blocking tool as additional layers.
Stop Paddy Power emails
Change Paddy Power marketing preferences separately
Use the account or app contact preferences, desktop preferences, or the unsubscribe control in a marketing email. Paddy Power's current marketing preferences article says changes can take up to 28 days. Necessary service messages and non- targeted advertising may remain.
Preferences do not automatically carry to Paddy Power's sister brands. Change each brand separately, and use separate device or advertising controls for social-media and other third-party promotion.
You can also use your mailbox's search, filter, and bulk-delete controls. Review the privacy terms and current price before granting any third-party cleanup tool access to your inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Is Paddy Power account closure permanent?
No. The current closure article says Customer Service can consider a later reopening request. Permanent self-exclusion is a different action and Paddy Power says it cannot be reversed.
Can a Paddy Power self-exclusion end early?
No. Paddy Power says a selected fixed exclusion cannot be removed before its end, and permanent exclusion is irreversible. A 1-to-30-day Take a Break ends automatically and is a different control.
Does Paddy Power closure delete every personal record?
No. Privacy erasure is a separate qualified request. Legal obligations and other permitted purposes can require retention, and the one-month privacy- request statement is not an account-closure promise.
Does one exclusion cover every Paddy Power-related account?
Do not rely on that. Current Paddy Power pages conflict about part of the Flutter-brand scope, non-UK/Gibraltar matching is narrower, and retail shops are not included. Exclude separately from each online brand and retail route you use; Great Britain users can add GAMSTOP's multi-operator protection.
Can the Gambling Commission resolve an individual Paddy Power complaint?
The Gambling Commission says it does not resolve individual complaints. Use Paddy Power's current complaints process and any named alternative-dispute-resolution route for the applicable account rather than treating the regulator as customer support.
