This guide covers the Australian Neds service. The current Northern Territory licensed-operator list names Entain Group Pty Ltd trading as NEDS AU. Confirm the operator and instructions again if the account belongs to a differently branded service.

Close your Neds account

Open Account Closure in Punter Assist

Sign in to Neds, open Punter Assist, then choose Account Closure. Entain's current Punter Assist page lists Account Closure as an online control available through that menu.

Save the confirmation and submission date. The official material reviewed does not publish a fixed completion time.

Use current support if the signed-in control is unavailable

The current Entain contact page publishes 1300 006 337 and support@neds.com.au for Neds Customer Service. It labels telephone support as available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Neds' current terms also say a customer may close through My Account or write by email or post. Ask for the ordinary account-closure action and a written confirmation.

Do not wager or deposit to prepare the account

Neds' terms say the operator refunds account credit by a method it determines. Bets on events that have not yet been held remain valid, and winnings are paid after the result.

The reviewed procedure does not require every bet to settle or every dollar to be withdrawn before closure. Do not place another wager, make another deposit, or cash out solely to prepare the request. Ask Customer Service how a specific balance or pending bet will be handled.

Know the reopening and data boundary

Entain's current Take a Break and account-closure page says an ordinarily closed account may be reactivated by calling. If the goal is to prevent later reopening, use the permanent self-exclusion or BetStop choices below instead.

Account closure is not personal-data deletion. Keep the closure confirmation and make a separate qualified privacy request if that is also wanted.

Neds Account Closure Request
Email body
Hello Neds Customer Service, Please close my Neds account associated with the email address I am using to send this request. This is an ordinary account-closure request. Please tell me how any remaining account credit and pending bets will be handled, and confirm whether the account can later be reactivated. Please also stop direct gambling marketing where your current policy permits. I understand necessary service, transaction, security, or legal messages may continue. If identity verification is required, send me the official secure verification route. I will not send a password, PIN, full payment details, security answers, or identity documents in an ordinary email. Please confirm the closure in writing and provide a reference number. Self-exclude from Neds

For a temporary block: Take a Break

Entain's current Take a Break page says Neds customers can block account access for 24 hours to six months. Once confirmed, Take a Break cannot be ended before the selected period.

Open Punter Assist after signing in, or ask Neds support for help. Entain also publishes narrower Curfew and Block Out controls, but those are not formal self-exclusion and may be changed before the next scheduled period starts.

For permanent Entain-group protection

The current Entain self-exclusion page directs a signed-in customer to Punter Assist → Safer Gambling → Self-Exclude. Entain describes that online action as immediate, permanent/lifetime, irreversible, and applying across its Australian bookmaker brands, including Neds and Ladbrokes.

If the signed-in route is inaccessible, the same page says temporary self-exclusion may be arranged by phone or email. The current Neds safer-gambling number is 1800 411 715; the official page reviewed does not publish hours specifically for that line.

Neds Self-Exclusion Support Request
Email body
Hello Neds Safer Gambling Team, I want to stop gambling with Neds. Please help me use the current formal self-exclusion option. Before actioning it, please confirm whether the option is temporary or permanent, when it begins, which Entain brands and accounts it covers, whether it can be changed early, and how any remaining balance and pending bets will be handled. Please stop direct gambling marketing where the current policy permits. If identity verification is required, send the official secure verification route. I will not send a password, PIN, full payment details, security answers, or identity documents in an ordinary email. Please confirm the exclusion and provide a reference number. For Australian-licensed online and phone wagering: BetStop

The BetStop registration guide explains the national signup, identity, duration, removal, account, and complaint boundaries. BetStop is a separate register for people ordinarily resident in Australia. It covers Australian-licensed online and phone wagering providers and requires identity verification. It does not cover retail betting venues, casinos, poker-machine venues, or unlicensed services.

The current BetStop FAQ says a person chooses a duration from three months to lifetime. A formal early-removal application is possible only after at least three months and has counselling or medical-advice, statutory-declaration, and seven-day withdrawal requirements. Do not assume an operator or Northern Territory exclusion enrols you in BetStop automatically.

BetStop support is 1800 238 786, 9 a.m.–9 p.m. AEST/AEDT Monday–Friday, excluding national public holidays, according to the current contact page.

Northern Territory multi-operator notice

The current Northern Territory self-exclusion notice guidance also allows a person to name selected or all current and future NT-licensed operators for a period from months to permanent. This is a separate process from BetStop. Follow the official form instructions: the notice requires a witness and photo identification, and the completed notice goes to licensingntsportsbookmakers@nt.gov.au.

What self-exclusion actually does (and doesn't)

It is designed to block play for the period you choose. Whether it covers new sign-ups or can be changed early depends on the operator and jurisdiction; follow the platform-specific details above.

Do not assume self-exclusion deletes account data, stops every message, or covers other sites; exact scope varies. Consider account closure, mailbox controls, and a blocking tool as additional layers.

Stop Neds emails

Stop direct Neds marketing

Neds' current privacy policy says a person can opt out through instructions in a marketing message, Customer Service, or the app's marketing-preference settings. Necessary service communications may continue.

Hello Neds Customer Service, Please remove me from direct gambling and promotional marketing sent by email, SMS, telephone, push notification, and post where those channels are associated with my Neds account. Please confirm when my marketing preferences have been updated. Thank you, [Your name]

Request deletion of eligible personal information

Account closure does not erase every record. Entain's privacy policy publishes privacy@entaingroup.com.au for personal-information deletion requests, but also says legal obligations can require retention. It gives certain AML/CTF records as a seven-year example.

Hello Entain Privacy Team, Please assess which personal information associated with my Neds account can be deleted under the rules that apply to the account. Please do not treat this request as proof that my account has already been closed or self-excluded. If identity verification is required, send the official secure verification route. Frequently asked questions

Does closing a Neds account permanently delete it?

No. Current Entain material calls it account closure and says a closed account may later be reactivated by calling. It does not promise removal of every personal record.

Which Neds control should I choose?

Use ordinary closure when you want to stop using the account but may accept a future reopening review. Use Take a Break for a fixed 24-hour-to-six-month block. Use Neds' permanent Entain self-exclusion when you want an irreversible Entain-group action. Use BetStop when you also want coverage across Australian-licensed online and phone wagering providers.

Can I close while I have money or an open bet?

Neds' terms say account credit is refunded using a method the operator determines. Open bets remain valid and winnings are paid after the result. The published procedure does not say you must wager, deposit, cash out, or wait for every bet before requesting closure.

Where should I raise a BetStop problem?

Use BetStop support and ACMA's provider-breach complaint route. The current Northern Territory wagering complaint page specifically excludes BetStop complaints from the NT Wagering Commission process.
