Close your Bet Right Australia account

Close the betting account

Follow Bet Right's current account-closure instructions.

Note unresolved items

If safe, privately note the balance, withdrawals and unsettled bets. Ask support about anything unresolved; do not deposit or gamble again to prepare for closure.

Open Account Settings

Sign in on the official site or app. In Account Settings, scroll to Close Account. Read the three statements shown there, supply the requested reason and confirm using your account password only within the official signed-in control. Never email a password or send it to us.

Use support if the control is inaccessible

The rules also accept closure by email or phone with your username and account number. The official contact page lists support@betright.com.au and Client Advocacy on 1300 238 670. Live chat is listed as 24/7; that is not a promise about phone hours or response speed.

Keep the outcome

Save the confirmation and support reference privately. Check whether anything remains to be resolved. Marketing and privacy requests are separate actions below.

Money, open bets and reopening

Rule Book 2, section 3.4 says Bet Right calculates the adjusted balance and notifies a customer with a positive balance to start withdrawal. Its rules say a debt must be paid before closure and permit withholding connected to unresolved liabilities. This is not an immediate-payout promise. If a debt is disputed, ask for an explanation and the complaint route; do not gamble to repay it.

The reviewed ordinary-closure instructions do not specify the outcome for unsettled bets. Ask support; do not apply the self-exclusion rule below to ordinary closure. Reopening requires a customer request, Bet Right's approval and current due-diligence checks, so ordinary closure is not a permanent block.

Self-exclude from Bet Right Australia

Choose the protection you need

Take a Break is a Bet Right-only timeout. The official break page offers 24 hours, seven days or 30 days. Login is blocked until the period ends, then access returns automatically. For withdrawals during the break, contact Bet Right by live chat or phone.

Bet Right self-exclusion is different. Use the route linked from its official self-exclusion page, or, if inaccessible, ask support for the current self-exclusion route. Bet Right says the period cannot be changed or removed while it runs; pending bets stand and winnings are sent to the bank details held on the account. Ask support about any other balance or withdrawal. A direct arrangement with Bet Right alone does not enroll you in BetStop.

BetStop is the separate national register. ACMA's program information describes a free restriction covering all Australian-licensed online and phone wagering providers, from three months to a lifetime. Providers must prevent new bets, new accounts and marketing. ACMA's pending-bet guidance explains that existing bets may settle first while new bets remain blocked, then remaining money is returned and the account closed.

Start at BetStop or read our BetStop registration guide. It is not a universal restriction on every form of gambling.

What self-exclusion actually does (and doesn't)

It is designed to block play for the period you choose. Whether it covers new sign-ups or can be changed early depends on the operator and jurisdiction; follow the platform-specific details above.

Do not assume self-exclusion deletes account data, stops every message, or covers other sites; exact scope varies. Consider account closure, mailbox controls, and a blocking tool as additional layers.

Stop Bet Right Australia emails

Request a separate marketing opt-out

Rule Book 5, section 2.12 gives the Privacy Officer's address: privacy@betright.com.au. Ask to stop direct marketing and keep confirmation. Do not assume ordinary closure automatically does this, or that a marketing opt-out closes the account.

Unsubscribe Request

Request an end to promotional emails and marketing communications

This template is not pre-addressed. Use the platform’s current official contact route and confirm where this request should be sent.

Frequently asked questions

Does closing Bet Right delete my data?

No. Closure and data deletion are different. Rule Book 5, section 2.11 permits a separate deletion request to the Privacy Officer, but says mandatory records must remain and a request may only be partly fulfilled. Do not send identity documents, passwords or full payment details in an initial email; ask for a secure verification route if needed.

Can I use ordinary closure as permanent self-exclusion?

No. Choose the separate protection route if preventing renewed access is the aim. A timeout automatically ends, while an ordinary closure may be approved for reopening. Neither should be described as permanent self-exclusion.
