Steps to Stop Using Augur

Since there is no account to delete, stopping your Augur use requires taking control of your own access.

Step 1: Resolve All Open Positions

Before stopping, you need to close out any active predictions. Check your wallet for any open positions in Augur markets. Either let them resolve naturally or trade out of positions on the platform. Claim any winnings from resolved markets to your wallet.

Step 2: Withdraw Your Funds

Transfer any ETH, REP tokens, or other assets from your gambling wallet to a separate secure wallet or convert to fiat currency through an exchange. Do not leave funds easily accessible in a wallet connected to Augur.

Step 3: Remove Wallet Access

The most effective way to stop is to make accessing Augur difficult or impossible. Uninstall any Augur-related browser extensions or applications. Remove the wallet from MetaMask or other browser wallets. Delete saved wallet connections from your browser.

Step 4: Secure or Abandon the Wallet

Create a completely new Ethereum wallet for legitimate use. Transfer any non-gambling assets to the new wallet. Destroy or securely store the seed phrase for the old wallet in an inaccessible location. Treat the old wallet address as abandoned.

Option C: Use Wallet Blocking Tools

Some browser extensions can block access to specific websites and dApps. Consider using website blockers to prevent accessing Augur interfaces. Enable parental controls or gambling blockers on your devices.

Important Considerations

Because Augur is decentralized, you cannot request that your transaction history be deleted. All blockchain transactions are permanent and publicly visible. However, wallet addresses are pseudonymous, meaning they are not directly linked to your identity unless you have connected them to exchanges with KYC requirements.
