Prediction Market Self-Exclusion: Check What Is Actually Blocked

Check prediction-market exclusion across an exchange, broker and shared register, including open contracts and the difference between hiding and blocking.

Last updated on Oct 12, 2026

To stop using prediction markets, check where you place orders, not just which exchange supplies the contracts. A restriction on an exchange's own app can have a different scope from a restriction through a broker. If you need support now, use our independent help directory.

Identify each route you use

Make a private list of the app or website where you submit orders and the account name shown on its statements. Do not enter account numbers, positions or losses on this website. The list is for checking coverage, not planning another trade.

For example, Kalshi's exclusion policy covers its website, app and API, but explicitly does not restrict access through a Futures Commission Merchant. Someone using a broker should also check that broker's procedure. Our Kalshi account guide and Robinhood prediction-market guide address different account boundaries.

Do not confuse hiding a feature with blocking orders

Robinhood's event-contract instructions distinguish hiding sports contracts from self-exclusion. Hiding them does not prevent trading. Its self-exclusion request goes through Support and covers all event contracts, rather than sports alone.

Ask explicitly for the protective action you want. An original prompt is: “I want to self-exclude from event contracts. Please confirm which products and access routes are restricted, and when the restriction becomes active.” Do not assume deleting an app, muting alerts or closing a general support ticket has completed that request.

Check shared-register coverage before relying on it

On October 12, 2026, SelfExclude.io lists Kalshi and Novig as fully integrated. Other named integrations are still in progress; a logo or planned integration is not active coverage. Its service is US-only and offers one, three or six months, or one year. Registration requires identity verification on the provider's site. Terms cannot be shortened and expire automatically; check your confirmation rather than assuming indefinite protection.

Use the current integration list when enrolling. This is not a promise that every prediction platform, broker, state exclusion program or gambling site shares the same register. For Novig-specific actions, see the Novig guide.

Resolve open contracts without delaying help

The procedures differ. Kalshi says excluded users cannot sell positions during exclusion. Robinhood says open positions must be closed before it can fully disable event contracts, and describes the transfer of remaining funds after settlement. Neither rule should be copied to another platform.

If access itself is putting you at risk, contact support immediately and explain both the protection request and any open items. Ask for a written explanation of what remains pending; do not place new orders to “finish” an account. This guide does not recommend whether or when to sell a contract.

Keep a confirmation checklist

Record the restricted account, products, start date, term and unresolved money questions privately. If you still have another access route, ask that provider about protection separately. A device blocker can be an additional layer, not evidence that account-level exclusion worked. Support is available before every administrative task is finished.
