Use the contact route for the task
Virginia Lottery publishes more than one support number. The routes below are kept separate so their hours and purposes are not mixed. Independent help does not require completing deactivation first.
Deactivate your Virginia Lottery account
Request deactivation through Customer Support
The current Rewards FAQ says to call Customer Support to request account deactivation. It lists 804-692-7777, option 1, then option 2, Monday–Friday, 7 AM–6:30 PM. Explain that you want to deactivate the Lottery account, including its online and Rewards access.
The production privacy statement separately lists care@valottery.com or 804-420-9584 for closing a Lottery account or help updating account information. Those are alternate published contacts; the Rewards phone hours are not attributed to them.
Ask for confirmation of the account status. The current terms allow identity checks and do not guarantee how quickly deactivation is completed.
Check cash, prizes and Rewards points
The terms provide for return of remaining funds unless lawful withholding applies. Unclaimed prizes can require an in-person claim. Rewards points are forfeited, and online play and Rewards access end. These are different types of value: do not assume points are redeemable cash.
Ask how any pending withdrawal or purchased draw will be handled and how support will contact you after deactivation. Keep that answer privately. Do not purchase more tickets to use points or “clear” an account. Amounts you owe do not disappear simply because account access ends.

Stop Virginia Lottery emails
Stop marketing separately
The privacy statement directs users to the unsubscribe link at the bottom of marketing emails. It also provides a preference center for changing communications. This does not promise that all account, security or legally required messages will stop, or that suppression is immediate.
If you cannot access preferences, ask the published support route for assistance without requesting reactivation for gambling.
You can also use your mailbox's search, filter, and bulk-delete controls. Review the privacy terms and current price before granting any third-party cleanup tool access to your inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Is this deletion or statewide self-exclusion?
Neither is established by an ordinary deactivation request. The Lottery is a government agency and retains information under records schedules. Ask separately about protection from gambling if that is your purpose; do not assume this closes casino or sportsbook accounts.
What should I keep?
Keep the confirmation, reference and any unresolved money instructions in a private place. Never post account details or identity documents here. Use the relevant platform guide for other accounts and our recovery-scam checklist if someone offers to recover funds for an upfront fee.
