Webull Event Contracts: How to Use Voluntary Opt-Out
Use Webull Event Contract Voluntary Opt-Out, check pending opening orders separately, and understand existing positions, linked-account funds and support.
Last updated on Oct 21, 2026
To restrict new Webull Event Contract positions, use Voluntary Opt-Out in your Event Contract account. Existing opening and closing orders remain after opt-out. An unwanted opening order needs separate attention; the restriction does not cancel it for you.
This guide concerns Webull's U.S. Event Contract product, not closing your brokerage account. If you need support now, our independent help directory is available without completing any account request first.
Turn on Voluntary Opt-Out
Webull's official opt-out instructions give this mobile-app route:
- Open Account and select your Event Contract account.
- Open Menu in the top-right corner, then Voluntary Opt-Out.
- Choose a restriction timeframe shown in your app and confirm your selection.
Webull says a confirmed opt-out cannot be reversed during the selected period. The public page does not list the available timeframes or explain expiry and reactivation. We have not tested the signed-in screens; no activation time or exact confirmation message was verified.
Existing positions are not automatically closed. Webull says existing orders can still be modified or cancelled, existing positions can be closed, and the quantity of an existing opening order cannot be increased. This is not a promise that all trading activity stops.
Check pending opening orders separately
If you want to prevent an existing opening order from creating a position, request cancellation of its unfilled portion. Do not assume enabling opt-out has done this.
The official order-management instructions describe the following route:
- Open Open Orders in the Event Contract account, or Orders in the linked brokerage account.
- Select the relevant pending opening order, then Cancel Order.
- Recheck its final status. Only the unfilled portion can be cancelled, and execution can overlap a cancellation request.
If an order filled before cancellation, it may now appear as a position. Ask product support about an unclear status; do not place a replacement order or add money to try to resolve it. Do not delay seeking help while checking orders. Existing closing orders also survive opt-out; this is not advice to cancel a closing order or to buy, sell or hold a position.
Existing positions and settlement
Opt-out is not settlement. Webull's settlement explanation distinguishes an event ending, the exchange determining its outcome, and any settlement proceeds being credited. Seeing an event result does not mean funds are already available.
Positions still held when trading stops settle automatically after the official outcome is determined. You do not need to place another trade for that process. This guide does not recommend selling or holding, predict a payout, or promise a settlement time. Ask support about the status of an existing position if you cannot safely use the app.
Funds and withdrawals use the linked brokerage account
According to Webull's Event Contract withdrawal guidance, the Event Contract account shares buying power with its linked brokerage account, and Webull moves funds between them automatically. There is no separate Event Contract withdrawal process: withdrawal requests go through the linked brokerage account.
Buying power allocated to an open order is unavailable for withdrawal while the order remains open. A fill can spend those funds; it is not a withdrawal. Settlement proceeds cannot be withdrawn before they are credited. These rules do not guarantee a refund, a particular balance, or immediate bank receipt. Ask support about an unresolved balance without depositing or trading more.
If you cannot access the control
Webull's Event Contract support page lists the Help Center, futures@webull.com and 888-816-0040. Published telephone hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern Time. These are product-support contacts, not an emergency service or a verified support-assisted opt-out guarantee.
Keep your gambling blocker enabled. If it blocks the app or website, use the telephone or email contact to ask for assistance; do not disable or whitelist the service. Share only what support needs to locate the issue. Do not email passwords, full payment details, identity documents or personal crisis disclosures. Ask for a secure verification route if needed.
What this restriction does not establish
We have not verified this control as formal self-exclusion, account closure, data deletion, marketing suppression, or a restriction on other products or providers. Do not close an unrelated brokerage account merely to follow this guide. For the broader distinction between provider controls and shared registers, see prediction-market self-exclusion.
Urgent help, international support and our gambling-blocker guide remain available regardless of an order, balance or account's status.
