How to Stop Entering McKinney Competitions

Find McKinney's temporary-break and permanent-exclusion controls. Separate future entries, existing credit or prizes, marketing opt-out and data requests.

Last updated on Oct 22, 2026

McKinney's published route for stopping participation is to sign in and open Responsible Play or Safe Play, then choose a temporary break or permanent exclusion. This guide is for people who already use McKinney and want to stop entering competitions—not instructions for opening an account.

If visiting the site would make an urge harder to manage, leave the account task for now. Keep your gambling blocker enabled; do not remove it or whitelist the site to follow these steps. Use the immediate urge-support toolkit or independent support directory. If you cannot stay safe, seek urgent help through that directory without completing an account action first.

Find the break or exclusion control

McKinney's Responsible Play page gives this route:

  1. Sign in to your existing account.
  2. Find the Responsible Play or Safe Play section.
  3. Choose a temporary break if you want a pause, or permanent exclusion if you want to stop future participation.

The public page does not specify break lengths, activation timing or whether the permanent option can ever be reversed. Read the confirmation shown to you and save a copy privately. We have not tested the signed-in screens, so do not rely on an invented intermediate menu or button label.

This is an operator-specific participation control, not evidence of account deletion or a block across other competition or gambling sites. You do not need to try another purchase to test whether it worked.

If the option is missing or does not work

Use McKinney's official contact page. It provides a contact form and current contact details. Explain that you want help stopping future participation, identify the control you tried, and ask for written confirmation of the restriction and its effective date.

Do not send passwords, full card details or identity documents in an initial message. If identity verification is requested, confirm the secure process through the official contact route. Guarding Gamblers does not need your account records or a copy of the conversation.

If the operator site is blocked on your device, keep that protection in place. You can ask an independent support service to help you plan the next step without changing the blocker. A delayed reply is not a reason to keep entering.

Check existing entries, credit and prizes separately

The public guidance does not explain what exclusion does to active entries, site credit, cash wins or pending prizes. Do not assume they are either preserved or forfeited. If relevant, save existing receipts and confirmations privately and ask McKinney:

  • Will entries already purchased remain in their draws?
  • How can I resolve existing wallet credit or a cash win without entering again?
  • How will you contact me about an existing prize, and what deadline applies?
  • Can those matters be handled while the participation restriction stays on?

Do not spend credit or buy another entry just to clear the account. If you need protection now, do not delay it solely because these outcomes are unclear.

McKinney's competition terms contain a general no-refund clause for entry fees and separate prize-claim requirements. They do not establish the result of choosing responsible-play exclusion. The FAQ distinguishes site credit from cash instant wins, but does not resolve access after exclusion. This guide does not promise a refund, payout or loss of prize eligibility.

Stop marketing and request data changes separately

The privacy policy says you can opt out of marketing through links in marketing messages or by contacting McKinney. Exclusion is not documented as automatically stopping those messages. If a message looks suspicious, use the official contact page instead of its links. Keep necessary account or prize communications separate from promotions.

An erasure request is also separate from stopping participation. The policy describes circumstances where data can be erased and reasons some records may be retained. Neither a break nor exclusion is proof that personal data has been deleted. No ordinary account-closure or account-deletion procedure was verified for this guide.

Add support beyond this one account

You do not have to settle how a product is legally classified before asking for help with spending or urges. For support appropriate to where you live, start with the international support directory. McKinney's competition terms name UK and Ireland residents aged 18 and over; that does not make one country's help service or legal process universal.

If you are in England, Scotland or Wales, the Great Britain prize-draw spending guide explains separate subscriptions, payment authority and provider restrictions. Its Great Britain guidance is not a legal guide for Northern Ireland or Ireland.

For other practical steps, use the gambling-blocker comparison, guide to reducing gambling ads or account-help directory. Check each product's coverage; a block or restriction at one provider is not evidence that another provider is covered.
