How to Reduce Gambling Streams and Alerts on KICK

Use KICK content preferences, mobile channel blocks and notification controls to reduce gambling-stream exposure. Understand what each control cannot do.

Last updated on Oct 21, 2026

To reduce gambling-stream exposure on KICK, start with Settings → Content Preferences in your signed-in account. You can also block individual channel cards in the mobile app and turn off livestream alerts. These controls do different jobs; none should be treated as a complete gambling block.

If opening KICK would make an urge harder to manage, skip the settings for now. Keep your gambling blocker enabled—do not whitelist KICK to follow this guide. Use the immediate urge-support toolkit or independent support directory. If you cannot stay safe, use the United States crisis options or the international directory without completing any platform action first.

Change content preferences on the web

For an account you already use:

  1. In a desktop or mobile browser, sign in to KICK and open Settings.
  2. Open Content Preferences and review the categories available to disable.
  3. Choose the content you do not want shown. Use the mature-content control if you want to limit 18+ streams, following the labels displayed in your account.

KICK's viewer-controls guidance confirms the signed-in settings path and category controls. Its homepage guidance also describes adjusting mature-content settings. The official pages do not document an exact gambling-specific toggle label. We have not tested the signed-in screens; do not rely on an invented button name or a promised result.

The mobile-app guide directs account-settings changes to the website, including when using a phone. Do not install the app just to change these settings. If you cannot find a control, use the official help guidance or leave the service; you do not need to search for gambling streams to test it.

What the category filter can and cannot establish

KICK's content-label rules require gambling streams to carry an 18+ label and use an appropriate gambling category, such as Slots & Casino. This is why limiting mature content may help reduce correctly labelled gambling exposure. That connection is an inference from KICK's labelling rules, not a guarantee that every gambling stream is labelled correctly or will disappear.

KICK's recommendation-system explanation says content types you have chosen to hide will not be recommended. It does not establish a complete block across search, Browse, direct links, clips, chat, advertisements or off-platform promotions. Cross-device persistence of these preferences was not confirmed in the sources reviewed.

You do not need to keep watching or clicking gambling content to try to retrain recommendations. If the remaining exposure is not manageable, leave the feed and use the separate support or access-barrier options below.

Block a recurring channel card in the mobile app

KICK's channel-blocking instructions describe this as a mobile-app-only feature:

  1. On a stream card, select the three-dot menu beside its title.
  2. In Block and Report, choose the red Block control.
  3. Confirm the channel block.

The documented result is a blurred thumbnail and hidden stream title, not removal of the card or a verified barrier to playing the stream. The block list is stored locally and is lost if you uninstall the app. Do not assume the same channels are blocked on another device or in a browser.

This is a viewer control, not a chat-room ban or formal self-exclusion. Muting a chatter is a different feature and should not be treated as hiding a stream. You do not need to watch a channel or submit a report just to use the documented Block control. If reaching the card is difficult for you, skip this step.

Turn off livestream alerts separately

For a channel you already follow, the official notification instructions say to open its channel page and switch off the bell beside Follow. The channel remains followed, but its going-live alerts stop. This does not remove its content from your feed or cancel a paid subscription.

If opening a channel would expose you to unwanted content, start with Settings → Notifications instead. KICK's notification troubleshooting guide describes disabling selected channel alerts or notification types. Account-level settings are managed on the website; browser permissions and phone notification permissions are separate controls.

You can also use your device's notification settings to silence KICK alerts without opening a stream. Do not turn notifications back on to check whether turning them off worked. Notification settings do not by themselves establish an email-marketing opt-out, account closure or a gambling-access restriction.

Use a separate layer for gambling access or advertising

KICK viewer settings are not operator self-exclusion, account deletion or a device-wide block. Choose the next step that matches what you need:

You can stop here without signing in, creating another account, watching a stream, paying for a subscription or explaining your gambling history publicly.
