Ohio Casino Control Commission and Ohio Lottery Commission

Time Out Ohio Voluntary Exclusion Program

A unified Ohio application covering the state’s four casinos, seven VLT racinos, and licensed retail and online sports gaming.

What it covers

  • All four Ohio casinos
  • All seven Ohio VLT racinos
  • Retail sportsbook facilities
  • All Ohio sports gaming conducted by licensed proprietors, including online sports pools

Not covered or not established

  • Lottery draw or scratch games
  • Fantasy contests
  • Casino-style iGaming
  • Every affiliate, property, or product outside Ohio

How to enroll

  1. Use the official online portal. Casino or racino staff can assist with that portal.
  2. Have a camera-capable device, valid government-issued identification, and the identity information required by the secure state process.
  3. If online verification remains pending, arrange a virtual appointment through the program contact or verify at an Ohio casino or racino.

Available terms

  • Minimum one year
  • Minimum five years
  • Lifetime

Ending or removing the exclusion

No selection ends automatically. After the applicable minimum, submit a removal application and wait for approval before returning or gambling. Current Ohio rules permit a lifetime participant to apply after at least five years and completing the required awareness education.

Before you submit

  • An older agreement may not include sports gaming. The current FAQ tells people enrolled before January 1, 2023 to submit a current Time Out Ohio application if they want sports gaming included.
  • The program does not guarantee physical prevention. A violation can lead to forfeiture, removal, and possible criminal-trespass consequences.
  • An operator may extend the ban outside Ohio, but that is operator policy rather than guaranteed state-program scope.

Also request self-exclusion from each operator

A state program may not cover every account, brand, affiliate, or jurisdiction. This copyable request is an additional operator step; it does not enroll you in the official state program above. Send it only through the operator's current official contact route.

Self-Exclusion Request - [Operator name]
Email body
Dear [Operator name] Support Team, I am requesting formal self-exclusion from [Operator name] for [choose a duration from the current policy]. This is a self-exclusion request, not an ordinary account closure or temporary timeout. Please explain which products, brands, accounts, and jurisdictions the exclusion covers; when it becomes effective; how any remaining balance and pending wagers will be handled; and whether I must also enroll in a regulator or state program. Please remove me from direct gambling marketing where your current policy permits. If identity verification is required, send the official secure verification route. I will not send passwords, full payment details, or identity documents in an ordinary support message or email. Please confirm the start date, end date if any, whether it can be changed early, and provide a reference number. Thank you for your cooperation. Best regards, [Your Name]
