New Jersey gambling self-exclusion programs

Official New Jersey self-exclusion options for casino and sports wagering, internet gambling, and horse wagering, with their separate scope and rules.

New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement

DGE casino, sports-wagering, and internet self-exclusion

The broader DGE enrollment choice for Atlantic City casinos, racetrack sports-wagering facilities, internet casino gaming, and internet sports wagering.

What it covers

  • Atlantic City casinos
  • Sports wagering at covered racetrack facilities
  • New Jersey internet casino gaming
  • New Jersey internet sports wagering

Not covered or not established

  • Pari-mutuel horse wagering and the separate account-wagering system
  • New Jersey State Lottery
  • Every fantasy-sports product

How to enroll

  1. Schedule an in-person or video-conference enrollment appointment.
  2. Use the official DGE instructions for identification, photo, and secure document submission.

Program contact: 1-833-788-4DGE; appointments Monday–Friday, except state holidays, 8:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

Available terms

  • One year
  • Five years
  • Lifetime

Ending or removing the exclusion

One- and five-year entries do not end automatically. After the minimum term, submit the official removal request. A lifetime DGE exclusion cannot be removed.

Before you submit

  • Covered operators must remove listed people from direct gambling-marketing lists; this page does not generalize that rule to every affiliate or non-gambling message.
  • The DGE removal form gives the Division five business days after a valid removal request, but operator systems may continue denying access until they update.

New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement

DGE internet-only self-exclusion

A narrower DGE choice for New Jersey internet casino gaming and internet sports wagering only.

What it covers

  • New Jersey internet casino gaming
  • New Jersey internet sports wagering

Not covered or not established

  • Atlantic City casino entry
  • Racetrack or off-track horse wagering
  • New Jersey State Lottery
  • Every fantasy-sports product

How to enroll

  1. Use an in-person or video appointment for all available terms.
  2. The current DGE page also documents internet-only portal and player-account enrollment for one- or five-year terms.

Available terms

  • One year
  • Five years
  • Lifetime through the appointment-based process

Ending or removing the exclusion

One- and five-year entries remain active until an official removal request is submitted after the minimum term. A lifetime DGE exclusion cannot be removed.

Before you submit

  • Choose the broader DGE option instead if you also want the covered in-person casino and sports-wagering restrictions.

New Jersey Racing Commission

Horse-wagering self-exclusion

A separate program for New Jersey racetracks, off-track wagering facilities, the account-wagering system, and fixed-odds horse wagering.

What it covers

  • New Jersey racetracks and off-track wagering facilities
  • The New Jersey account-wagering system
  • The fixed-odds horse-wagering system

Not covered or not established

  • Atlantic City casino gaming
  • Internet casino gaming or sports wagering
  • New Jersey State Lottery

How to enroll

  1. Arrange in-person enrollment through a current Commission location: Meadowlands, Monmouth Park during its May–September season, or the New Jersey Racing Commission office in Trenton.
  2. Bring the required photo identification. The current instructions say the Commission takes a photograph during enrollment.
  3. Wait for the Commission to review the application for completeness and confirm enrollment before treating the exclusion as active.

Program contact: Call the location you plan to use. Monmouth Park enrollment is seasonal (May–September); the Trenton office lists Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m.

Available terms

  • One-year minimum; the exclusion continues until the person requests removal after that year

Ending or removing the exclusion

The reviewed instructions establish a one-year minimum and a later removal request rather than automatic expiration. Wait for Commission confirmation before returning.

Before you submit

  • This is separate from the DGE reference to sports-wagering facilities at racetracks.
  • Submitting an application is not the same as confirmed enrollment.

Also request self-exclusion from each operator

A state program may not cover every account, brand, affiliate, or jurisdiction. This copyable request is an additional operator step; it does not enroll you in the official state program above. Send it only through the operator's current official contact route.

Self-Exclusion Request - [Operator name]
Email body
Dear [Operator name] Support Team, I am requesting formal self-exclusion from [Operator name] for [choose a duration from the current policy]. This is a self-exclusion request, not an ordinary account closure or temporary timeout. Please explain which products, brands, accounts, and jurisdictions the exclusion covers; when it becomes effective; how any remaining balance and pending wagers will be handled; and whether I must also enroll in a regulator or state program. Please remove me from direct gambling marketing where your current policy permits. If identity verification is required, send the official secure verification route. I will not send passwords, full payment details, or identity documents in an ordinary support message or email. Please confirm the start date, end date if any, whether it can be changed early, and provide a reference number. Thank you for your cooperation. Best regards, [Your Name]
